Our approach uses tried and true techniques throughout your build. We employ hand-tooled processes, 🚫NO CNC 🚫 Each guitar starts out as an individual rough sawn plank, chosen for its unique figure and grain. The wood is then paired to make a body, milled to the desired thickness, and hand-tooled to the bel.Sonique shape. Sanded and sealed, the body is than sprayed with a Nitrocellulose base coat and clear coat if needed. Era specific hardware, often from the original manufacturers is used, as well as our own proprietary cold rolled steel and stainless hardware. We use a nitrocellulose finish to give your instrument that resonant, warm tone reminiscent of that period. We’ve refined some of these techniques and process where we found it beneficial, expect a bel.Sonique to be as historically accurate with that undeniable vintage vibe we all want!

Our mission is to bring back the craftsmanship, and hand-tooling from a time period we consider the "Golden Age" of guitar making; 1950 to the early 1960's. The goal isn’t to reinvent the vintage guitar, but rather carry on its legacy. Our hand-tooled process creates guitars with subtle variations and what we consider beautiful inconsistencies. No two guitars are ever the same. Technology today provides wonderful benefits to modern guitar making. However, with automated manufacturing, the "stamp-out" process creates perfect clones with much of the character of the guitar lost. We create guitars with a human touch, a soul. A true 1-off or custom shop experience with the same level of craftsmanship, but without the overhead 😏
